3 Ways You Can Easily Keep Your Dog Away From Foxtails

Our uncle was not a soft touch when it came to his animals. He had hounds and although they were well taken care of the only time he would take any of the three to the veterinarian was when it came time for inoculations. And he only did that because it was required.

For him they were working dogs and although he always had a fondness for them he never quite called them pets. We often wondered about him, how he seemed so cool to these loving dogs. It was not until one, Red, got a foxtail in his ear, causing an infection, that Uncle Nick truly showed his soft side!

The hound was obviously in pain so he took him to the vet, had it removed, and the dog stayed there for a couple days. We were with him when he picked Red up and the hound was so happy to see him! Uncle was petting him, calling him affectionate names, and we saw a rare, secret side of our uncle!

Naturally, I had to laugh but it was a scary time. On the next page, learn three easy ways to keep your dog away from foxtails!
