When we first adopted our dog, Max, we had to wonder about him. He is a Chihuahua, and this breed of dog is famous for being territorial, but a bark never came from his mouth! He would listen, turn his head back and forth, but he did not bark for a solid month.
Then one day, a neighbor approached the house, and suddenly Max was a barking machine! It was actually kind of scary!
We’re not sure if Max did not truly feel secure in his forever home or he simply never felt he had a reason to bark before that moment – but when he barked non-stop that fine day, we knew Max was finally at home!
