Introducing your dog to water can have a couple different effects. Either they will enjoy it, bounding into a lake or swimming pool with no fear of danger, or they will be tentative, sniffing the water and maybe dipping a paw or their nose into it to see if it fulfills a need!

Whatever the case, eventually a dog will hopefully take to the water. It may take a while for some but they will give in, especially when seeing their family playing and having such a great time.

But there are more therapeutic reasons for having your dog in the pool.

Swimming is great exercise. We’ve been told this over and over again. And what is good for you is good for your doggie, especially if that dog is suffering from arthritis or elbow dysplasia, like many bigger dogs.
