How to Safely Remove a Tick From a Dog

tick lyme disease

We lived in an area of Southern California where there was green grass, places for a dog to run and play, but also some suspect areas in the back of sheds and houses that seemed ripe with tumbleweeds, dirt, and insects. In other words, zones that were not really safe.

Thus, when it was time to examine our pooch for fleas and ticks we often found the disgusting critters snacking under his arms, on his belly and a couple times near his ears. We carefully pull them out with tweezers but were surprised to find we need to be more careful with the procedure. They are not good for your dog, certainly, but they are not good for you either.

However, there is a sort of system that is good for both you and your dog.

Max always seemed grateful for our intervention but he always hated the procedure. On the next page, we give you the important steps you will need to pull the ticks out and destroy them.

Even if you are a life lover you do not want these bugs anywhere near our family or pooch!
