When we first got our dog, Max, we were sitting up in bed, with our small TV on. There was an Animal Planet © show on featuring chicks and their little chirps were cute. We remember smiling at the little bundles of fluff.
However, we did not realize how interesting they were until our new dog stared up at the TV screen, studying it intently, and his head started doing all sorts of tilting!
It was fascinating to watch. He seemed to be asking: What is that? I hear that sound but can’t understand what it is … WHAT is that?!”
But now we wonder. Was he curious, empathizing, or was the sound annoying?
