Our niece has had her German Shepard for years before she and her husband realized they were expecting. They were not overly concerned because Diesel had always been a good dog. What worried them most was having a little newborn around such a big hulking beast. He would never intentionally hurt her but Diesel may just cause problems because of his bulk and clumsiness. They need not have worried. Once their little girl was born he seemed to automatically understand there are some things a big dog cannot do around a “hairless puppy”! LOL!
This may not be true for all dogs. Some may even become jealous of this interloper into their lives! Why is he or she taking away so much attention from “man's best friend” and when is that creature finally going away?
Sorry Rover, it doesn’t work that way. As much as Mom and Dad loves you, and will always have a special place in their hearts for you, we are afraid the little human outranks you now. Some take it with grace and others not so much. But at least tolerance is better than violence!
