In retrospect, the outcome seems completely logical. Dogs are not foolish. They know what they like. However, we commend the kennel owner for her empathy and her son for his openness!
Nala obviously had a separation stress disorder of some kind. Perhaps she had a young boy in her life at one time that she care for deeply and, alone on the streets, she was missing him horribly. Then seven-year-old Zach showed up, joining his Mom, and he felt at home once again!
What a heartwarming and wonderful personality change! It might not work for all doggies but good old Nala, with treats and training, will now make a great family dog for anyone who wants to give her a home!
