Mary the Beagle is one lucky little pup. After wandering away from home she was found stuck on a hillside, an actual cliff, waiting for rescue. She had been there a couple of days and she truly did look worn and afraid.
Unfortunately for her rescuers, she was a little too afraid and would not go with them! Poor Mary just could not fathom that the men were there to rescue her and she backed away from any attempt to pull her away.
His life in jeopardy, the would-be rescuer had to leave frightened Mary on that cliff but not before leaving her with some food. He would have to try again later when conditions were better.
