We were once told that you can tell the true intelligence of a dog in the way he or she entertains itself. A dog that cannot find fun by playing with anyone other than his or her master, we were told, means you have a sweet but slow-learning doggie on your hands.

Now, we are not entirely certain we agree with this theory. After all, maybe a dog that prefers to play with people just is better socialized than a dog that makes his own fun.
