
When our dogs reach senior citizen status, we wish we could hit the reset button on our their lives and watch them grow up from puppy to adult over and over again. We find ourselves having a difficult time trying to understand why dog's don't live as long as we do.
How can a being so loving and loyal not be allowed to live as long? It's an unfortunate, but a necessary evil in life.
Dogs rely on us for many things including food, love, and shelter for a reason. The same goes for the decision over when it's time to say goodbye.
So, we must remember that our furbabies trust us to make the right one. Dogs are members of our family and we must handle the situation in a similar manner as we would if it were our birth children.

I usually wait longer than I should but it is such a hard thing to have to be the one who says when your best friend dies.
