As pet owners, we do our best to keep our pooches safe and healthy, but there are always important factors you could be overlooking. Obviously, no one is perfect, and there is always room for improvement, but when it comes to your dog's health, you should make it your priority.

If you're currently not getting your dog vaccinated you should be, because ignoring regular vet check ups and not vaccinating puppies, in particular, can lead to them getting sick and in worse case scenario, dying. The same goes for feeding your pooch too much people food — overfeed him and he'll become obese, which can lead to many health problems down the road.

If you're not sure if you're making the best decision for your furry best friend it never hurts to ask. Vets, animal shelter employees, and trainers are just a few dog professionals that are usually happy to offer advice.

You can also make the effort to learn more about the ways you may be harming your pooch. There is always more to understand that perhaps you may not have thought about before!

Keep reading and check out more items that should be significant to you (if they're not already), for your doggy's health.
