Adopting an adorable pup from the animal shelter can often leave you with lots of questions. Mostly because you might adopt a dog and you can't quite seem to pinpoint his breed.

He's definitely a mix but precisely what dog breeds did he come from? Dogs in animal shelters are often mislabeled. While this may not seem like a big deal, it can pose problems for breeds that look like pit bulls. Additional issues that may arise is if a shelter knows the specific breed of each dog, people may assume certain dog breeds are prone to health problems.
