A good pet parent will always worry about what their pets eat and drink. If it’s unhealthful we do not want them to go anywhere near it. Yet, when we take pour dogs for walks we pay little attention about what they are sniffing and lapping around.
If you are in the backcountry you might even let your pooch loose to wander, never really thinking about the rivers they are drinking from. But really, why should we worry? It’s good, fresh river water, right?
Well, not always. Think about what is happening up-stream. Are there cows chewing or defecating near the water Rover is drinking from? Is some backwoodsman doing his wash? Think of all of the things that can pile up in the water!
