New Study Reveals That a Dog Tends to Mirror an Owner’s Emotional State

Often, while working in our home office, we pause in what we are doing and see our dogs staring at us. We wonder, what do they see? Do they really observe anything at all? They appear very interested or at least curious so something must be up, right?

Come to find out, our pups may be studying us, watching how we are reacting to whatever it is we are doing. They may be listening to us talk with ourselves, angered over something the laptop is not doing but should.

Some dogs may simply go back to sleep after hearing us utter an explanative while others show signs of anxiety. Yet, could that sleeping pup still recall that time we, their human, acted out of character and could he – at a future time – mirror our own emotional state?
