6 Dog Breeds That Can Withstand Colder Weather

Recently we moved to the cooler climate of Kentucky from the much warmer climate of Southern California. A change was needed for us and our doggy. But did we, most especially our fur baby, know what we were getting into?

Surprisingly, Max, our Chihuahua is thriving. We’ve had a few snow days so far and he enjoys trotting about in the white stuff – as long as he doesn’t stay out in it too long. Remember, he is a Mexican Chihuahua after all.

That got us to thinking about cool weather dogs, those with thick coats who probably do much better in the ice and snow, rather than the hot stifling sun.

After the break, go over to the following page and take a look at some of the most beautiful cold climate dogs on Earth. We love them all!
