The Real Reason Why a Dog Tilts His Head to the Side is Astounding. I Couldn’t Believe It!

Be honest, the minute your pup does the “head tilt” you melt a little. It really is just too cute. But there is actually a reason for it!

Apparently, when a dog tilts its head, it’s a symbol that they are showing us empathy and that they are engaged. It’s not surprising really as we all know how in tune with our emotions dogs can be. If you think about it, us humans do it too. When someone tells us about a sad story or some unfortunate news, we often tilt our heads in a caring way.

It is also said that dogs tilt their heads so that they can hear us better as, although they are known for their good hearing, they can sometimes find it hard to locate exactly where the sound is coming from. Tilting their heads adjusts their ears and allows them to pinpoint the exact source and tone of a voice more clearly.

Yet, we have to admit we often think our dog does the head tilt just because he knows we love it. The minute he does it we gush and they know they are in for some pets, snacks and love talk.

So, even if it didn't mean anything, where is the down side? There just isn’t. LOL!
