You adopted him, take care of him, and in return, he gives you companionship and guards the house. It’s a great exchange. And, while you feel you might call all the shots, being the human in this human and canine relationship, there are times when you might be fooling yourself.
It is a laughable idea. Your dog is there for you, after all. But think about some of the little things you do around him or her. Eat a snack, give him a small piece, whether you should or should not, then – when you are finished – what do you do?
If you are like us you lift your hands and show Rover there is nothing left. I mean, he’s giving you that look so it’s only polite. Hey, wait a minute. Did he train you to do that?
