We completely understand why some people do not want their dog in bed with them. Some pet lovers have allergies. They are fine with their dog on an open and everyday basis in the home but once they are close or in close quarters the dander just gets to the fur parent and poor Fido is delegated to his own bed.
Also, there is an issue of fleas. As much as some of us use the spray, collars, and baths, sometimes Fido just attracts the pests like frosting to cake and, again, having his own bed is the safest maneuver.
However, for the rest of us, having our faithful friend cuddle up with us in bed, particularly on a cold night, is not just a comfort issue but very bonding too! In our own home we make our dog sleep at the end of the bed but, eventually, while we are sleeping, he’ll always make his way up the bed so he can cuddle by our side! Those mornings when we awake, nose to nose with our pooch are hilarious!
