It seems like an odd request but picture yourself without eyesight for a moment, seeing nothing but perhaps a faint blur of activity around you, knowing something is up, but unsure what it is or what is causing it.
Humans, with their sense of understanding, can often get past hurdles because, while sight may be gone, other senses are acute AND we have the understanding through various cues, including human language, of what might be happening around us even though we cannot see it.
Now, picture your doggie under the same circumstances. While they can understand some words we say they can’t always picture in their minds as we do what is happening when they hear a loud noise or someone calls their name. Is it an emergency? Am I in trouble? Are they going to feed me? Should I wake up?
After the break, watch as one family, understanding that shaking a blind dog is probably not the best way to wake him, nudges the little guy in the sweetest gentlest way possible!
