There's no doubt about it. If you have a puppy, she will undoubtedly go through a stage where she will try to bite and chew on everything, including your hand. But instead of allowing her to “mouth you” aka bite your hand, teach her to go to a toy instead. Whereas it may be cute at first when your pup plays with your hand with her mouth, later it can cause you pain if she plays too hard.
There is the occasional exception when a dog knows when she's nipping and just play biting, but other people may not know she's just playing. To help her learn only to use her mouth on toys, you need to teach her the rules now while she's still impressionable.
