If there is one thing a dog lover likes to do, it is pick up and hug their dog. This is much easier when they are puppies, smaller and magnificently cuddly, but as they get older there are a few things to be careful of.
For one thing, they may not want to be lifted as much as they did when they were puppies and, now older, a dog’s physique is a bit different. They may even have the early onset of arthritis and you do not want to be lifting up a pooch that is already in pain!
Then, of course, there are more obvious reasons you need to be more careful when lifting a pooch.
