Many people have a breed of dog they're partial to, and many people also have certain breeds they prefer to steer clear of. Sometimes it's because they've had a bad experience with or heard bad things about that breed, or maybe they just prefer larger dogs over smaller dogs or vice versa.

However, there's really no such thing as a “bad” dog breed or one that's better or worse than the other.

That being said, there are a few dog breeds vets have some concerns about, either because they're prone to certain health problems, or because people don't always know what they're getting into when they bring one into their home. Because, let's face it…some breeds can be quite a handful!

They're definitely still lovable, though, and there's a breed of dog that's right for every person, family or situation. Still, it doesn't hurt to know about some of the challenges that certain breeds bring.
