Officer Chris Lynch may be able to pat himself on the back for numerous acts of bravery and compassion. Yet, few acts come closer to making the man a hero – for those of us who love dogs – than what he did in Michigan one day while making his rounds.
On patrol Lynch, who is an officer with the Department of Natural Resources, was making his rounds. He suddenly saw something suspicious on a private trail into a wilderness area. It was a man with a friend and a small dog, jumping happily by his side. Normally that would not have brought up red flags but as Officer Lynch got closer to the man’s vehicle he spotted a rifle.
