When man and beast work together to make an annoyance beneficial for both parties, you have to give the human part of the couple a pat on the back, as well as the dog! There is always a compromise!

It’s not the jumping the Shepherd wanted but the idea of being a part of the group. This way he can clearly see what is going on while not stressing his body or straining neighborly good will!
