Adopting any child has its nervous first day. You want them to trust you, feel secure, and have fun too. Yet, there are also eventual rules they will need to follow and we hope they understand. These rules apply to both a human child and a fur-child!
Yet, sometimes there is a clueless cuteness involved that will make us forgive them any small indiscretion.
For instance, should your new puppy piddle on the carpet you must teach them where the kitchen newspaper is and eventually how to make it known that going outside is needed for a quick pee. “Baby steps” and all of that!
But, on the first day, it’s just love and cuddles – and maybe an occasional chew on toes… yours and theirs!
