Dog, like humans, give off little clues when they want something.
If a human wants a piece of cheesecake they’ll usually start by saying how much they could go for something sweet. Then they’ll remember the great cheesecake Grandma used to make.
After that, it is usually a trip for the spouse into the refrigerator to get said cheesecake lover a slice.
Dogs are more direct. If they want to be fed they will usually do a back and forth motion near their bowl. If they want to snooze they’ll yawn and curl up wherever it is comfortable. They also give us rather direct clues when they feel it is time to play.
