5 Dog Breeds That Get Along With Cats (Because Peace and Harmony is Important!)

cat and dog together

Thinking of adding another furry family member? Before you add a cat or a dog to your household, you might want to do some research first. If you currently own a cat or a dog that does not get along with their feline or canine counterparts, you may need to reconsider adopting another pet at this time.

However, if you have one of the dog breeds listed on the next page, you should be okay. Please note that there is always an exception — some dogs love being around cats and some cats love being around dogs. To maintain peace and harmony in your home both pets should be friendly or, at least, be willing to get along.

I'd also like to add that even though Fido is friendly towards cats, there will still be an adjustment period. Don't expect them to be best buds right off the bat. And it's likely that your pooch will pout a lot and act left out. Provide both with the same amount of affection and be very patient during the transition period.
